(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Families are hitting the road for the Thanksgiving holiday, and a travel expert has advice on how you can fly with your family with your sanity intact.
Cindy Richards, editor-in-chief of She Buys Travel in Chicago told the WBBM Noon Business Hour that the airlines have addressed the personnel issues that snarled schedules over the summer.
But airports will be packed, so leave plenty of time to get through security and to your gate, she said.
"Get there as early as you reasonably can. Even if you're traveling with kids, just bring stuff to entertain them because the planes are really full," Richards said.
Electronic devices keep kids entertained during long waits and drives down the highway. Be sure to have a charger that's easily accessible, Richards advises.
"Make sure you have some way to plug it in if (the device) starts to die in the middle of the movie," Richards said.
The airlines are preparing for a pre-Covid number of passengers this holiday week.
