Ashburn Turner County receives $10,000 donation to "The Big Peanut" restoration

The Ag Georgia Farm Credit donated $10,000 to the Ashburn Turner County Chamber of Commerce on Nov 22nd to help restore the Big Peanut Monument.

The Big Peanut represents Ashburn and the agriculture in Georgia then it was knocked down by hurricane Michael in 2018.

"It was a community effort put up about 40 years ago, um to represent and uh to celebrate all of the contribution that agriculture, specifically peanuts have contributed to the Georgia economy, " said Miller.
The chamber of commerce, residents and donators are all excited to be one step closer to the restoration which is estimated to be done early next year.
