Netflix is once again turning to interactive storytelling for upcoming anthology series Kaleidoscope

Featuring an ensemble cast including Giancarlo Esposito, Paz Vega, Jai Courtney, Rufus Sewell, Rosaline Elbay, Peter Mark Kendall, and more, Kaleidoscope follows "a crew of masterful thieves and their attempt to crack a seemingly unbreakable vault for the biggest payday in history" as they go up against an impenetrable vault and the world's most powerful corporate security team. Helmed by Eric Garcia, the series is "loosely inspired by the real-life story where seventy billion dollars in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy."

The eight episodes of the series will span 25 years, starting 24 years before the heist and concluding 6 months after. The non-linear storytelling approach will allow viewers to start with different episodes and choose their own personal viewing order up until the "epic" finale. "All viewers will eventually see all episodes, but the order in which they watch the episodes will affect their viewpoint on the story, the characters, and the questions and answers at the heart of the heist."

Kaleidoscope marks another of Netflix's many ventures into interactive storytelling, following specials like Kimmy vs. The ReverendYou vs. WildBlack Mirror: BandersnatchMinecraft: Story Mode, Escape The Undertaker, and more.

Kaleidoscope premieres on Netflix January 1, 2023.
