Deputies: Man shot in Farmington in road rage incident

FARMINGTON – Ontario County sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help as they investigate a shooting that they describe as a road rage incident that happened at 8:55 p.m. Sunday on Mertensia Road, just north of state Route 96.

A man who was shot was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment and released, deputies said. 

The vehicle deputies said was involved is described as a silver or gray newer model four-door sedan with tinted windows and fog lights.

The vehicle was traveling east, from Victor toward Farmington, on state Route 96 just before the shooting. It was last seen heading north on Mertensia Road.

Deputies said someone was walking south on Mertensia Road just before the incident. Deputies would like to talk to that person, as well as anyone who may have information about the incident.
