Buffalo man dies after crashing into utility pole in Springfield

Police say a man from Buffalo died Saturday after crashing his vehicle into a utility pole in Springfield.

Ronald McClellan, 61, of Buffalo, died at the hospital after the single-vehicle crash on Division Street just east of Glenstone Avenue, according to a news release from the Springfield Police Department.

The circumstances surrounding the crash, which occurred at about 10:30 a.m., are under investigation.

Police say McClellan's death marks the 23rd fatal vehicle crash in Springfield this year.
