Only Murders in the Building wrapped up Season 2 in summer 2022 with another bloody installment, leaving fans dying for a third season. The finale, "I Know Who Did It," set up a whole new mystery for our trio to solve; after butting heads with Charles (Steve Martin) backstage at Oliver's (Martin Short) latest production, Broadway star Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) seemingly dropped dead mid-monologue, much to the horror of the full house.

"You've gotta be f*cking kidding me," Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) huffed, as frantic onlookers surrounded Glenroy's body. So who killed Ben Glenroy? The crime-solving trio is already back on the case. Here's everything we know about Only Murders in the Building Season 3 so far.

What is Only Murders in the Building Season 3 about?

Hulu has not revealed an official synopsis for the third season, but based on the Season 2 finale, it will likely revolve around the murder of Ben Glenroy, which takes place a year after the events of Season 2. After the conflict between Ben and Charles in the finale, it seems as though we have a lot to learn about what connection Ben has to our central trio — and who could possibly want him dead.

Series co-creator John Hoffman talked to TV Line last August about the "twisty" new episodes and the writers' approach to handling all the narrative threads: "We try to check ourselves, like, 'OK, what can we do and how can we do this differently?' and 'What feels like a different take? A fresh take?' So I can only say hang tight! There’s a lot going on, and certainly the victim is colorfully drawn so far."

"If Season 1 was a little more focused on the emotional storyline for Mabel and Tim Kono, and Season 2 was a little more emotionally connected to Charles and his relationship with his father and himself, I’m very excited to both lean into the theatrical side of New York City and also into Oliver and his world," Hoffman explained to The Hollywood Reporter

The series's cast and crew celebrated the end of filming in this triumphant tweet:

When will Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Premiere?

Hulu confirms that Only Murders in the Building Season 3 premieres August 8, which Steve Martin let slip earlier this year. As Variety reports, Martin dropped that tidbit on April 30 as part of his "You Won’t Believe What They Look Like Today!” touring show alongside his OMITB co-star Martin Short. According to two attendees, Martin told the audience they could “catch the new season August 8,” with Short quipping, “Our show is like Steve trying to pee — it streams for 33 minutes.”

Who is in the cast of Only Murders in the Building Season 3?

Martin, Short, and Gomez all returned for Season 3 in their respective roles. Paul Rudd was officially announced as a new cast member for the third season following his surprise appearance as the show's latest victim in the Season 2 finale.

Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams also joined the cast in a recurring role, playing a documentarian interested in our trio's latest case. Other returning cast members have not been announced yet, but it's likely we'll see Arconia residents and supporting players like Jackie Hoffman, Michael Cyril Creighton, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Nathan Lane, James Caverly, and Jason Veasey back for another season.

Amy Schumer, Jane Lynch, Tina Fey, Michael Rappaport, Shirley MacLaine, Sting, Andrea Martin, and Mark Consuelos have all made guest appearances on the show. But Season 3 landed its the biggest star in Meryl Streep — Martin (as in Steve) posted the news of the new addition to the cast on his Twitter account back in January:

Is there a trailer for Season 3 yet?

Yes, Hulu released an official trailer on July 26, setting the stage (pun intended) for the crew's investigation into a murder on Broadway.
