CLARKSTON - A 78-year-old Clarkston woman is being charged with DUI and Vehicular Assault following a collision on Highway 129/Riverside Drive, near Swallows Park in Asotin County, that injured a 17-year-old.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Marlene Driscoll was traveling southbound in a 2019 Lexus RX at around 8:00 p.m. on Friday when she drove across the center line and collided with a northbound 2008 Toyota Camry being driven by a 17-year-old male from Clarkston.

According to Asotin County Fire District #1, the 17-year-old driver was unresponsive when crews arrived, but then regained consciousness and had to be cut out of the car.  The driver of the other car was shaken and refused medical care on scene.

The 17-year-old was initially transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and then sent via Life Flight to a Spokane hospital.

Driscoll was arrested on charges of DUI and vehicular assault.  Both were reportedly wearing seat belts.
