Local Realtors form all-female charity to help residents in need
Not many nonprofits can say they’ve secured $20,000 for a cause after a mere week in operation. But The Queen Bees certainly can. Christina Swain, Kelly Kemmerer, Missy Kitzmiller, Helen Irvine and Robin Kemmerer, all experienced Realtors in the Langhorne and Levittown areas, formed the all-female charity organization with two goals in mind: to help community members in need and create a positive network for like-minded women.
Lower Bucks Chamber announces events
The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual State of the County Luncheon on Thursday, March 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Northampton Valley Country Club, 299 Richboro Road, Richboro. Bucks County Community College announces events for Black History Month
Bucks County Community College is celebrating Black History Month with three events in February. The month kicks off with “Lord, Write My Name: From Slavery to Freedom” on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Zlock Performing Arts Center, located on the Newtown Campus at 275 Swamp Road. Renowned baritone Keith Spencer is joined by Peter Hilliard on piano as they present a musical tapestry interspersed with narratives, poetry and letters penned by enslaved people and iconic Black figures throughout history.
SCORE Bucks County announces February business webinars
SCORE Bucks County announced that it’s offering four free webinars in February in a continued effort to keep the local business community informed. “How to Gain Customers with a LinkedIn Company Page” takes place Feb. 7. Led by SCORE volunteer Lynne Williams, who serves as executive director of Philadelphia Area Great Careers Group, the session provides insight on the differences between a personal page and a business page. Williams will present live demonstrations with actionable takeaways adaptable to all business formats, from solopreneur, consultant and small business owner. She will discuss: how to create your banner and logo; special features that can be incorporated on the company page; growing your business; gaining authority; building awareness.

Bucks County Community College receives grants
Bucks County Community College is the recipient of two grants: an It’s On Us PA grant for $34,778 and a PA Hunger-Free Campus grant for $59,945.
