Concerts coming to CNY: Lainey Wilson, Gin Blossoms, Borgore, Salt City Blues, more

Looking for some more live music in Central New York?

CMA Awards winner Lainey Wilson will perform at Kegs Canalside in Jordan, N.Y., on Feb. 4, 2023, as part of her “Country with a Flare” tour with special guests Ben Chapman and Meg McRee. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Tickets for Wilson are on sale through kegscanalside.net for $30. All attendees must be 18 or older.

Wilson, who opened for Morgan Wallen at his sold-out concert at St. Joe’s Amp in Syracuse this summer, won best new artist and female vocalist of the year at the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday. The rising country singer’s hits include “Things a Man Oughta Know,” “Wait in the Truck” (with Hardy), “Never Say Never” (with Cole Swindell) and a cover of 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up (What’s Going On).”

A number of new concerts have been recently added to the del Lago Resort & Casino lineup in Waterloo, including ‘90s rock band Gin Blossoms on Feb. 23 and comedian Marlon Wayans on April 28. Both shows begin at 8 p.m. in The Vine showroom.

Tickets for Gin Blossoms, who performed at the New York State Fair recently, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through the del Lago Resort & Casino box office at 315-946-1695 or online at dellagoresort.com/entertainment. Tickets for Wayans are on sale now.

Additional shows coming to del Lago include Breland on Nov. 17; Bret Michaels on Nov. 26; Nikki Glaser on Dec. 8; Grand Funk Railroad on Dec. 9; Lita Ford on Dec. 17; and Impractical Jokers on Feb. 18. Guests must be 21 or older to attend all shows at The Vine.

Borgore, an EDM producer, DJ and rapper best known for the 2011 dubstep hit “Decisions” (feat. Miley Cyrus), will perform at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse on Dec. 2 at 8 p.m.

Advance tickets are on sale for $25; additional fees may apply.

Other upcoming shows at the Westcott include the 95X-Mas Pajama Jam with Wilderado and Andrew McMahon on Dec. 3; Pigeons Playing Ping Pong on Dec. 10; and Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime on Feb. 1.

The annual Great Salt City Blues Concert is returning on Monday, Dec. 26, at the Palace Theatre on James Street in Eastwood. Doors open at 6 p.m.; music starts at 7:30.

Tickets go on sale Nov. 15 through brownpapertickets.com and at the Sound Garden in Armory Square. Advance tickets are $30; any remaining unsold tickets will be available at the door for $40.

The one-night-only Great Salt City Blues Concert 6 will pay tribute to Etta James, Elmore James, Sleepy John Estes and Little Junior Parker with a lineup of musicians that includes Tas Cru, Morris Tarbell, Colin Aberdeen, Ava Andrews, Dave Liddy, Jes Sheldon, Jeff Stockham, Rod Zajak, Ronnie Leigh, Rob Spagnoletti, Jake Capozzolo, Garnet Grimm, Steven T. Winston, Raedwald Howland-Bolton, Don Williams, Larry Kyle, Lee Tiffault, Mike Davis and Matt Lomeo.

Big Head Todd & The Monsters will perform at the Center for the Arts in Homer on Jan. 26, 2023, at 8 p.m. The concert was just announced two weeks ago but is already sold out, according to Eventbrite.

Other upcoming concerts at the Center for the Arts include Patterson Hood (of Drive-By Truckers) on Dec. 3; David Bromberg Quintet on Dec. 9; and Suzanne Vega on Dec. 16.

And Trampled By Turtles’ concert scheduled for this Sunday at the State Theatre of Ithaca has been rescheduled for Dec. 28 after singer Dave Simonett was ordered by a doctor to go on vocal rest. All tickets will be honored for the new date; refunds are available until Nov. 25.
