GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Last weekend BLM and nonprofit group, “Piceance Mustangs”, offered more than 70 horses at an adoption event held at Rimrock Adventures in Fruita. Tonight, we want to give you an update.

From noon to 6, members of the audience viewed the 35 geldings up for adoption.

Bidders then took part in a silent auction with a minimum starting bid of $125. So how did it all turn out?

“We actually had a 100% adoption success rate. So, all of the horses were successfully adopted and went off to good homes this past weekend. We do try to have adoption events throughout Western Colorado. We’ve had a few in Florence, Fruita, Meeker, and also Grand Junction of course but we’re still planning out the details,” says Public Affairs Specialist, Brittany Sprout.
