Dance legend Savion Glover and Grammy-winning jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater are set to share the stage on Saturday at New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

This will be the second time the two artists have performed together.

Glover, a Newark native, grew up listening to Bridgewater’s music. The dancer credits her with inspiring him to grow as an artist.

“I love Dee Dee, I love her contribution to the sound and it's always an honor to jam and hang out and learn from the experience,” he said.

Bridgewater is also eager for the audience to see their work.

“I think the show is going to be electric. It's going to intrigue people because in a sense we're combining two areas of the black experience that are considered a little more passe, but I think that the combination of Savion and myself will give the audience something that they've never seen before. I just hope people are going to turn out. it's going to be very exciting,” she said.

The show is scheduled for Saturday at NJPAC in Newark at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
