San Diego County Seeking Applicants for Vital Panel

If you've ever wanted to serve on a Grandy Jury, here's your chance

The San Diego Superior Court is taking applications from now until January 20th for the the 19-member 2023-2024 Grand Jury, which will be seated in July of next year. The Grandy Jury does not investigate criminal conduct, but does handle citizen complaints and serves as a government agency watchdog group.

Applicants must:

- be a U.S. citizen

- be at least 18 years old

- have sufficient knowledge of the English language

- have lived in San Diego County for at least one year prior to selection

- pass a criminal background check

Qualified applicants will be nominated for a random drawing in June of 2023, which ensures each supervisor district has equal representation.

Those who serve on the Grand Jury receive a stipend and parking Downtown is provided.
