Portlanders looking to rekindle some pre-COVID holiday magic are in luck this year. With many pandemic restrictions lifted, holiday concerts are back in a big way.

Are you ready to sing along with your mask off? Here are 19 chances to feel the magic and celebrate the season with music this year. Also, make sure you check before you actually take your mask off – rules vary by venue.

‘The Storm Large Holiday Ordeal’

Storm Large will perform this holiday season in Portland.

Join Portland’s number one loungecore act, Storm Large, for her 15th annual “Holiday Ordeal.”

According to a press release, “Storm will love you, leave you, delight you and abuse you with a wicked charm and stunning vocals that will have you begging for more.”

Sounds like the holidays!

‘The Singing Christmas Tree’

Portland’s Singing Christmas Tree will celebrate its 60th anniversary this November. Timothy Greenidge, Erin Tamblyn, Katie Harman and Georgene Rice will join adult and youth choirs for 90 minutes of holiday fun.

‘Welcome Christmas’

Big Horn Brass brings their annual Christmas concert to The Reser this year. The show features the St. Matthew Exaltation Handbells as well as holiday classics from the 16-musician brass ensemble.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is touring in 2022, presenting “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve — the Best of TSO and More." (Jason McEachern photo)

What’s more Christmas than the sounds of Trans-Siberian Orchestra? Not much. This year they are bringing those sounds to the Moda Center with “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve.” Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, StubHub and Vivid Seats.

‘White Album Xmas’

Portland’s Beatles tribute Christmas show and circus spectacular is back, with The NowHere Band and Rose City Circus for nine days in November and December.

‘Celtic Christmas’

Once again, the Gothard Sisters bring two nights of contemporary Celtic music and new arrangements of Christmas songs to The Old Church to celebrate Christmas.

‘ISing Choir Yearning for Christmas’

ISing Choir, members of the Big Horn Brass Ensemble, organist Dan Miller, and pianist Yvonne Yang join together to share familiar holiday classics, including “Joy to the world,” “Angels we have heard on high,” and “The snow lay on the ground,” in a program meant to harken back to “the Christmas of old.”

‘Santa Sing-Along’

Have you ever wanted to sing Christmas carols with the big guy himself? Well, you can in Tigard. This event includes songs, stories and gift for every child.

‘Comfort & Joy’

Get in the seasonal mood with the Oregon Symphony’s first holiday offering, conducted by Deanna Tham. The symphony and the Oregon Chorale share a holiday concert featuring sing-a-long Christmas carols and classics like “White Christmas.”

‘Gospel Christmas’ with the Oregon Symphony

If you love gospel music, you’ll want to join the symphony and the Northwest Community Gospel Chorus for the 23rd annual performance of this Christmas classic.

‘Celtic Yuletide’

Join the Boulding family, mom, dad and five grown children as they play harps, dulcimers, concertina, accordion, violin, cello and more. There will be music, dancing and storytelling, an evening of Irish Christmas celebration.

The Fire’s ‘Very Scottish Christmas’

Another Celtic concept Christmas concert from the commonwealth! This one features bagpipes and highland dancing. And there will be Christmas carols, too.

‘Rock The Holidays!!’

Violin music but make it rock and roll. In this holiday show, “Concert Rock Violinist” Aaron Meyer shares holiday music from Mozart to Aerosmith alongside special guests including members of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony.

Harry Connick, Jr.’s ‘A Holiday Celebration 2022 Tour’

Harry Connick, Jr. will bring his holiday magic to the Schnitz, sharing Christmas classics and his own seasonal music in a show that is sure to make you, at least momentarily, believe in Santa Claus.

Mark O’Connor’s ‘An Appalachian Christmas’

Grammy-winning composer and fiddler Mark O’Connor, accompanied by his wife Maggie O’Connor on fiddle and vocals as well as others, brings reimagined traditional Christmas music and original compositions to Beaverton this holiday season.

Brandi Carlile New Years’ Eve
