Here's How Much Seaport Village Makeover Could Cost San Diego Residents

It will reportedly cost about $550 million in taxpayer money to revamp Seaport Village.

The remodel would build new hotels, attractions, and marinas on 70 acres of the waterfront.

Land developers had estimated the total cost to be about $3.6 billion according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The developers had previously promised the project would not come from taxpayer funds, but during a recent meeting with the U-T's editorial board, they said public funds from new and exisiting taxes "may be necessary."
