29-year-old identified after fatal ATV accident in Waterbury

The Waterbury Police Department has identified a 29-year-old man who was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident on Friday night.

Jose Albino-Mirabal, of Waterbury, died at Waterbury Hospital shortly after the crash, police said.

At about 9:45 p.m. officers responded to a call about an ATV motor vehicle accident at 21 East Farms St. Police said they located the ATV’s injured driver. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff at 10:27 p.m, police said.

In a preliminary investigation, police determined that the driver lost control of the ATV and landed on his head in the East Farms Street roadway.

The Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident. They ask anyone with information to call their unit at (203) 346-3975.
