New restaurants named as part of Mauldin's 'urban village' opening soon
One of the Upstate's most exciting developments continues to take shape a year after the master plans were unveiled.
Phase One of the urban village called BridgeWay Station – which is 40 acres and runs along Interstate 385 in Mauldin – was announced in April 2021.
The village is named after a pedestrian bridge that will be built across I-385 and will feature millions of square feet of residential, retail, leisure, office and restaurant space.
On Tuesday, Hughes Investments, Inc. announced a new venue to make its home in the village called City Market at BridgeWay Station.

Dine Development’s new venue will feature a public house with 100 different beer selections and five casual food concepts: Bourbon St. Burgers, The Flying Philly, American Taco, The Market, and Crazy Cow Creamery.
City Market at BridgeWay Station will occupy approximately 9,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space on the project’s main public square.
It will also feature a 4,000-square-foot rooftop bar overlooking the main Piazza, outfitted with a full bar and its own private stage.
The rooftop bar will also be available for private parties and functions, which is now accepting reservations by contacting sidney@dineupstate.com.
"We are very excited to be part of BridgeWay Station and to get started on our newest venue," Thomas Wirthlin, CEO of Dine Development, said.
The Public House will feature 100 different beer selections - including 30 on tap - as well as mimosa flights, wine, prosecco, and frozen slushies. The Public House is the perfect place to gather with friends and watch games.
American Taco will be a brand-new food concept for Dine Development, adding craft tacos, nachos, chips and queso, homemade salsa and frozen margaritas to the menu.
Bourbon St. Burgers will open its third location and will continue to offer its crowd favorites: black Angus burgers - a special blend of ground chuck, short rib, and brisket - marinated chicken sandwiches, salads, fried chicken sandwiches and one of the largest bourbon collections in the Upstate. Bourbon St. Burgers will also have a full bar, including their famous Bourbon slushies.
The Flying Philly was recently introduced at the new Warehouse at Midtown, whose menu offers authentic beef and chicken Philly cheesesteaks, stuffed baked potatoes and chicken wings.
The Market will offer grilled paninis, chopped salads, grilled sandwiches, cupcakes, parfaits, sweets and Italian gelato.
Crazy Cow Creamery will feature soft-serve ice cream with a variety of add-ins, as well as Happy Cow milkshakes.
City Market at BridgeWay Station will be in the center of the Piazza, providing outdoor seating beside the Piazza’s Main Stage for year-round performances.
City Market at BridgeWay Station joins Cohesive Coffee, Belladina’s Italian Market, The Junkyard, Plum: A Lifestyle Boutique, Yogi’s Cups and Cones, Cocobowlz, and Poogan’ Southern Kitchen.
Other retail tenants are expected to be announced in the near future.
BridgeWay Station is currently under construction and features:
- 69,939 square feet of retail
- 210,824 square feet of residential
- 81,000 square feet of institutional development (GREEN Charter Upstate High School) 75,000 square feet of office
- 24,691 square feet of plaza and pavilion public space
- 5+ acres of parks connected to the Swamp Rabbit Trail via the new pedestrian bridge spanning I-385
The pedestrian bridge is slated to open in early 2023.
