Drivers in Seattle should be aware of two highway projects that could snarl traffic this weekend.

The Washington State Department of Transportation announced that the State Route 99 tunnel will fully close in both directions starting Friday at 10 p.m. through Saturday at 6 a.m.

The ongoing Revive I-5 work on southbound Interstate 5 is also taking place again this weekend.

All mainline southbound I-5 lanes will remain open.

Starting Friday at 7:30 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday morning, the eastbound and westbound I-90 offramps to southbound I-5, and the southbound I-5 collector-distributor offramp to the southbound I-5 mainline, will be closed.

As part of the Revive I-5 project, crews are replacing 56 expansion joints and repaving 1.25 miles of southbound I-5 between I-90 and Spokane Street. Click here for more information on the project.
