A Grady County family is grieving the loss of a 20-year-old man killed on an oil rig near Chickasha.
Tanner Snider's sisters told KOCO 5 that all they can do is remember him through memories and the things he loved.
"He loved playing the guitar here recently," sister Layla Barron said.
Snider wrote a song for his fiancé after proposing two weeks ago. But the wedding won't happen.
Snider was killed Wednesday while working on an oil rig off County Road 1400.
"But he loved it. He was always talking about it, the things he learned. He said, 'It's hard, but I love it,'" sister Laysee Taylor said.
Snider recently started on the rig.
Grady County Sheriff's Office officials said workers were pulling a pipe out of the ground when a joint separated, striking him in the face. He died instantly.
"We had just seen him. We see him frequently. Every day. So, it's crazy," Taylor said. "You think when they go, they come back."
Snider's family said when he wasn't at work, he filled his time cowboying, being with his loved ones and doing what he could to make them smile.
"He was always with his family or friends. You will never hear one bad thing about him," Taylor said.
Barron added that Snider was goofy.
"He just knew how to change the mood in the room. He was goofy. He was so goofy," she said.
