A special children’s program on the ancient art of basket weaving. Join Shiloh rangers to learn how to weave a basket of your own. This program is also about learning something new and helping protect the environment. Our basket weaving program will take place  at the Shiloh Indian Mounds shelter. All children 6 years old and up are invited to join us but space is limited. Please call the park’s visitor center at 731-689-5696 to register.

Scarybook Trail

Pickwick Landing State Park; Marina parking lot

Halloween event. There will be a hayride from the Marina parking lot to the storybook trail for a spooky 0.25 mile hike. The panels will tell a new story for the event. Experience the adventures of two friends that got lost in the woods! It is full of spooky night sounds, creepy crawlers, animal friends, and candy. Halloween costumes are encouraged.
Please park at the Marina parking lot on Marina Rd, Pickwick. Follow the signs to appropriate parking. Hayride shuttles to the trail will run from 7pm-8:30pm, but will continue transporting guests back to the parking lot afterwards. Bug spray recommended

Paint The Town

142 East Main St., Adamsville

Quick Draw Competition and “Wet Paint” Sale. Make plans to join us for a fun filled day with music, food and art! Celebrating the quaint small town of Adamsville, Tennessee. Artists ages 14 and up are invited to Paint the Town (out in the open air). Register by contacting Lisa Engle at renonmain@gmail.com. The public is invited to watch as the artists work. Then vote on their favorite painting at 12:30, when the artists will return to the tent for judging. Awards of over $2,000 will be handed out at 1:30. Enjoy the Holt Family as they play bluegrass. From 10-11 Renaissance on Main will also host a young artist paint out. School ages 5-13 are eligible to paint fee of charge. But you must register your child and accompany them. Only 30 spots available apply at renonmain@gmail.com. There will be a “Meet and Greet” reception for the participating artists at the Event Space on Main Street from 12-1:30. Free and open to the public. If you support the arts come out to buy an original work of art painted that day! Nationally known plein air artist Kathie Odom from East Tennessee will is our esteemed judge and will demonstrate 2-3 pm. You don’t want to miss this opportunity!
