OU Campus Police are investigating a car theft that happened at one of the University's parking garages early Thursday morning.
Police say the victim parked his vehicle on the fourth level of the Timberdell Road Parking Facility around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. He had left his vehicle unlocked with a set of spare keys inside the car.
The victim told police he had been gone only minutes, and when he returned to his vehicle, it had been stolen. The vehicle and the spare keys were later found abandoned on the third floor of the parking garage.
Police say there are two suspects in the carjacking. One is a slender white male, estimated to be between ages 18-25, wearing a black hoodie and gray sweatpants. The other is a slender black male, estimated to be between ages 18 and 25, wearing a dark sweatshirt and sweatpants.
Campus Police remind people to avoid situations like this, they should park in well-lit areas, lock the doors to their vehicle, don't leave any keys unattended inside the car, and to not leave valuables in plain sight.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
