WEST MIFFLIN, Pa — For the second time in six months, Augusta Goll, 41, of Monessen, is accused of leaving a child alone in her car.

Court filings show she faces charges for allegedly first leaving her 1-year-old daughter in a vehicle back in April.

West Mifflin Police say she did it again Wednesday, and this time, her 3-month-old son was also in the car.

According to police paperwork, Goll arrived at the West Mifflin Walmart just before 2:00 in the afternoon Wednesday.

“What’s the matter with people sometimes when they have kids like that? You don’t leave kids in a car,” said a Walmart shopper from West Mifflin.

After a bystander noticed the small children alone in the unlocked, running car, police approached Goll 26 minutes later inside the store.

“I felt terrible. It really irritated me that somebody could do something like that. Really,” said the shopper.

The criminal complaint states that it was 70 degrees out and the air conditioning in the car was on low, the girl had been crying, and both kids needed their diapers changed.

“Their diapers were bad and everything like that. They weren’t in good shape either. Maybe they’re not the best of parents. I don’t know. It makes you wonder sometimes,” said the shopper.

In this latest incident, Goll is charged with two counts of leaving a child unattended in a car and two counts of endangering the welfare of children.

“Hopefully she does learn her lesson, because her kids are young, and then they get to at least stay with her the rest of their life. I don’t know how this is going to affect her, you know,” said the shopper.

Goll is due back in court on Oct. 20.
