GCSO responded to the 800 block of County Rd. 1400 after a 20-year-old man, later identified as Tanner Snider, was killed while operating a drilling rig.
According to GCSO, the rig was pulling a pipe out of the hole when one of its joints separated. When the joint separated from the rig, it created a slingshot effect and struck Snider in the face.
GCSO says Snider was killed instantly. His next of kin has been notified of his passing.
Snider's family has created a GoFundMe to help his fiancee with life expenses.
