Bride's Response to 'Miserable' Wedding Day Cheered Online

A bride has delighted the internet with the story and video of her wet wedding, which turned out to be a big success despite the rain.

The clip shared on TikTok, under the username Clairehillerr, shows several wedding pictures, taken by a professional photographer, featuring the couple and their guests having a great time at the party. It was captioned: " bet your guests were miserable."

Held at the bride's parents' property, avoiding paying for the location must have saved the couple a small fortune. According to The Knot, the national average cost of a wedding is $28,000, or $34,000 including the engagement ring.

The lowest average cost is in Wyoming, $15,800, and the highest is New Jersey, up to $47,000. The average in Georgia is $27,000.

The average national cost of a reception venue is about $10,700, more than one-third of the total expenditure. Other big wedding expenses include a live band ($4,300) florist and rehearsal dinner (both $2,300) and videographer ($1,900).

When it comes to wedding dresses, the national average is about $1,800, It also varies by region with an average spend of over $2,000 in the Mid-Atlantic, and a much lower one in the Midwest, which is about $1,600.

After plummeting down to 66 during the pandemic, the average number of guests attending weddings has gone up to 105, much closer to the pre-pandemic average of 131.

The clip, which was first posted on the platform on Wednesday, has so far been watched over 440,500 times and liked about 72,800 times. The internet has really taken to the guests' enthusiasm.

One user, Misslaneyiszany said: "A wet knot is harder to untie." And Silje_aee said: "Rain on your wedding day means good luck and that your marriage [is] unbreakable."

Another user, Heather commented: "This was one of the best weddings I've been to!! Everyone and everything was amazing! I'm glad you didn't stop it!" And mannievdw said: "All these pictures are AMAZING omg. what a day of joy!!"

The photographer who took their wedding pictures, Daniel Vertiz wedding photo, also commented: "Everyone was thrivingggg." And peach said: "Man, that looks like an extremely good time!"

Genuine Collective Films wrote: "now this is a vibe I am in love with. some people would let this ruin their whole day, so happy y'all didn't!" And Introvertedextrovert_idk added: "Your guests passed the vibe check."

Another user, Nicole Suárez said: "DREAM WEDDING" And stella added: "The photo of you two [on] the boat in the rain reminds me of 'The Notebook' my fav."

Newsweek reached out to Clairehillerr for comment. We could not verify the details of the case.
