ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Berglund Center is welcoming back The Craftsmen’s Classic on Friday through Sunday, Oct. 9.

The event will begin on Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. Parking and admission for this event are free with a food or monetary donation to benefit Feeding Southwest Virginia.

These are the items the food bank needs the most:

  • Peanut butter (excluding JIF)
  • lean canned protein
  • canned vegetables
  • canned fruits
  • beans
  • whole grain cereal
  • healthy snacks
  • whole grains

“It means so much to us when at the end of the event and we are cleaning up, we see huge
boxes of food filled to the brim to help feed the people of Southwest Virginia,” said Tami
Gilmore.

According to Feeding Southwest Virginia, the donations will help continue its mission to nourish neighbors, engage community partners, and develop solutions to address food insecurity.

Last year, the Craftsmen’s Classics brought in 14, 224 pounds worth of donated food. The event is a partnership between Southwest Virginia, Gilmore Shows, and the Craftmen’s Classics Art and Crafts Festival.
