Terrebonne Sheriff’s Violent Crimes Detectives have arrested two men in connection with a shooting.

Rontrell Leon Holmes, a 20-year-old man from Gray, and an unidentified 17-year-old juvenile were both taken into custody as part of their investigation.

The arrests stem from a shooting the day before on Marietta Place near Park Avenue in Gray.

When authorities arrived on scene they located a victim who told officers that the shots came from car with two suspects.  Detectives discovered that a vehicle parked at the residence was struck by gunfire, but no one was injured during the incident.

Detectives later tracked down the suspect vehicle at a trailer park. Deputies and detectives located 2 males at a trailer and they were taken into custody. A search discovered evidence consistent with the shooting as well as three firearms which were recovered during the search of the property and suspect vehicle.

Rontrell Leon Holmes and the juvenile male suspect were brought in for questioning.  During an interview with Holmes, information was learned that linked him and the juvenile male to the shooting.  Holmes was later arrested on charges of aggravated assault by drive-by shooting, and Criminal Damage to property.  Holmes was jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where he remains jailed on a $100,000 bond by local judges.

The juvenile offender was arrested on charges of aggravated assault by drive-by shooting, and Criminal Damage to property.  The juvenile was jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Detention Center, where he remains jailed.
