LGBT Center of Greater Reading Celebrates LGBT History Month at Out in the Park Festival

The LGBT Center of Greater Reading is kicking off LGBT History Month at the second annual Out in the Park Festival to be held this Saturday, at FirstEnergy Stadium.

This event was planned to coincide with LGBT History Month. “What better way to recognize the global pioneers who opened doors and made it possible for us to have events like Out in the Park,” said Michelle Dech, Executive Director.

“The event is an opportunity to support over 100 local businesses, nonprofit organizations, health and wellness providers, entertainers, artisans, and advocates who are making significant contributions to the community,” Dech added.

The event will feature an exhibit of The Rainbow Letters; A Living History of the LGBTQ+ Community of Greater Reading, presented by Reading Pride Celebration, Drag Queen Story Hour by Miss Amie, and a kids area with games. Reading Phillies concession stands will provide food and drinks.

Covid and flu vaccines will be provided by Latino Connection, confidential HIV testing provided by Co-County Wellness Services, community resources.

The event will be held this Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 1-7pm, rain or shine. Event parking is free.
