Joseph Pinsonnault of Ware won a $1 million lottery prize after advancing to the third round of the “Everlasting Million Challenge.” The lottery said the challenge included contestants from other lotteries across the country.

Over 30 Massachusetts State Lottery players won the free trip to Las Vegas to compete in the challenge. They were each chosen during five Second Chance Drawings in the “Willy Wonka Golden Ticket” instant ticket game offered by the Massachusetts State Lottery. To enter the drawing, players used non-winning tickets.

The 30 lottery players all won a four-day, three night trip for two to Las Vegas that included airfare, hotel accommodations and $1,000 spending money. They then hoped to win even more in Las Vegas.

Beyond Pinsonnault, two other Massachusetts State Lottery players each won $25,000 prizes, another won $5,000 and one won $2,500. But all of them walked away with at least $1,000.

The top prize, however, was for $1 million a year for life.
