Parade of Homes 2022 comes to Onondaga: Tickets, calendar, contests and more details

The annual Parade of Homes begins its eleven-day run on October 13 at the “Old Town Estate” neighborhood in the town of Onondaga.

The popular event of the Home Builders and Remodelers of Central New York is a presentation of some of the region’s best builders, along with their product and service providers.

This year’s Parade will highlight seven luxury home by Harrington Homes, JMG Custom Homes, Mark Antony Homes, MWG Custom Homes, Sciuga Custom Builders, Smolen Homes and Stone Hammer Homes.

The Parade of Homes runs daily through October 23 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Advance sale tickets are available online now through Oct. 12 for $12. Tickets purchased at the Parade cost $15.

The event offers the public a “stroll of imagination,” giving them a chance to walk through the showcase houses and gather ideas for their own new or existing homes.

Each of the seven homes will be fully decorated and landscaped, highlighting the latest colors, tiles, window treatments, exterior designs, furniture trends, and floor plans. Most of the furniture and accessories will be for sale.

All the services and products that will be on display, the countertops, moldings, doors, windows, and decking, even the homes themselves, can be duplicated for you. Information on just about every detail will be available to make “your own house a showcase home.”

“We welcome the community to come out and enjoy the many events we have going on, within the Parade of Homes event,” said Mary M. Thompson, Executive Director of the Home Builders & Remodelers Association. “There are also several of the Parade houses still for sale.”

The event is produced by the Home Builders & Remodelers of Central New York and presented by Advance Media New York, the parent company of syracuse.com | The Post-Standard, NYup.com and Central New York Magazine. How much: Advance tickets will be on sale here until Oct. 12 for $12. Tickets sold at the Parade are $15. Children 12 and under are free. On-site parking is free.

Events Calendar

There will be several special days at this year’s Parade of Homes.

These include:

October 13: It is opening day. To kick off the Parade of Homes, the League of Women Voters of Syracuse will be on site with information about how to register to vote, where and when to vote, and info about candidates running for office.

October 14: Start the weekend right with the “TGIF! Party on Parade” and HBR member Night from 4-7 p.m. Attendees and members are invited to mingle and move their way down the Parade Street while listening to music by “The Horn Dogs” and other entertainers.

October 15: Don’t worry about missing Syracuse’s University’s big game against N.C. State on Saturday. Wear your orange and watch the game on TVs inside the homes starting at 3:30 p.m..

October 18: What’s the Scoop? Attendees will be treated with samples of seven different ice cream flavors from Gannon’s from 4-7 p.m. Be sure to register for a chance to win a $50 Gannon’s Gift Card.

October 20: Ladies Night. The Parade of Homes builders’ welcome crafters and vendors to their garages so attendees can browse, shop and sip some wine provided by Lakeland Winery. Vendors will include Tupperware, Pampered Chef / Norwex, Wood Turnings, Sweet Pearls Candle Company and more. One lucky winner will get a Halloween bag with 585 pieces of candy.

October 21: Enjoy a tasting of 1911 products in one home, and cider and fresh doughnuts in the six others, compliments of Beak & Skiff. Enter for a chance to win a $50 gift card to Beak & Skiff.

October 22: Corvette Night at the Parade. Watch as corvettes roll through Old Town Estate at 3 p.m.

More chances to win

There will be daily Parade of Homes trivia during the event. Answer all seven questions (one about each house) correctly to win. A daily prize are two tickets to the 2023 Home & Garden Show.

Also be sure to scan the QR code at the Parade and vote for your favorite things at the event. Categories include “favorite kitchen,” “favorite living/great room,” “favorite curb appeal,” and more.

Everyone who votes will be registered to win one of three $200 Wegmans gift cards.

Food Trucks

Have lunch or dinner while visiting the Parade of Homes. Each day, a food truck will be on site.
