SIBLEY—A 36-year-old Ocheyedan man already in the Osceola County Jail in Sibley faces another charge.

Scott Allen Hanson was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief after he became upset and threw an iPod several times, breaking it, at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

He also threw the iPod at the television, damaging the TV also, according to the incident report.

Hanson had been arrested about 1:40 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, on Osceola County warrant for first-degree theft, first-degree criminal mischief and trespassing resulting in injury or damage greater than $300.

The charges stem from him allegedly entering onto Ocheyedan property during the late winter and early spring and damaging several vehicles, structures and farm equipment to take and sell scrap metal from them. The total amount of damage to the vehicles and property is estimated to be more than $10,000.

The stolen property/scrap metal then was sold. The value of the property taken was more than $10,000, according to court documents.
