The Pella Christian volleyball team entered the season with a young team and some big shoes to fill after graduating three starters from a year ago.

While it was hard to predict before the season how the youth of the Eagles would fill in those spots, the team has responded with one of their best seasons in recent memory. P.C. currently has their highest winning percentage since the 2016-2017 season and need just one more victory to match last season’s win total. Sophomores Maggie Heinen and Addison Bandstra believe a big reason for the Eagles’ successes this season is the bond the team shares.

Heinen: “We already have a good connection because we all play a good amount of sports, so we’re all connected already. So, it really just brings the team together, like how we play together. I think, we’re good at connecting that way.”

Bandstra: “Yeah, and just having fun together and it’s almost like building off of previous years. We just in all sports, we just keep connecting with each other.”

The Eagles volleyball team is off until Monday when they wrap up regular season Little Hawkeye Conference play at home against Norwalk.
