WILLISTON — Like several other events and activities around Levy County last week, the 33rd annual Central Florida Peanut Festival did not take place due to Hurricane Ian.
Instead, the festival has been rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 15. This came via an announcement on the Central Florida Peanut Festival’s Facebook page on Sept. 27.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Suwannee River near Manatee Springs.
* WHEN...Until early Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, In Dixie County, flooding continues to
expand at New Pine Landing. Most of SE 851st street is flooded
and SE 837th street begins to flood. Water spreads out through
the woods and approaches SE 311st avenue. Flooding worsens near
Yellow Jacket with many areas east of SE 793rd street flooded. In
Levy County, Minor flooding affects areas along the Manatee Spring
run in the state Park.

- At 8:00 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 7.7 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:00 AM EDT Thursday was 7.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Wednesday morning and continue falling to 6.6 feet

- Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
8.1 feet on 01/05/2019.

- At 8:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 10.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 AM EDT Thursday was 10.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.2
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage early Sunday morning.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
10.0 feet on 08/17/2021.
