The Kearney Regional Airport celebrated not one, not two, but three major changes on Wednesday.
The first was a ribbon cutting for Kearney Flight Services, a new city department which provides fuel and general aviation services at the airport.
The second was revealing terminal renovations and designs to the public, this includes things like new bathrooms and baggage claim.
Finally, the public had a chance to get to know Kearney’s new flight carrier, Denver Air Connection.
“Air carrier service is essential. You have to be able to get to and from your home airport in order to visit family or do business in this area. To bring people in, you’ve got to have it. This crew is committed to being here. Two years is just the start, I think we’ll be able to develop a long term connection with these guys so they will be here for the foreseeable future,” said Assistant Airport Director Steve Cole.
Denver Air will begin flights on Nov. 1. They will be offering a total of 12, round-trip flights per week to Denver.
