911 call released after Lebanon woman allegedly caused dogs to attack 6-year-old
The city of Lebanon police is investigating after two pitbull mixes mauled a 6-year-old after the owner owned them to attack.
The child was taken to the hospital with severe injuries to her face and body, and she had two emergency surgeries and dozens of stitches.
According to court documents, on Aug. 25, a woman, Cassie Thierauf, used her dogs as weapons against the child.
WLWT obtained 911 calls that described what led up to the alleged incident on Rosemarie Drive.
"The neighbor just let her pit-bulls loose on my 6-year-old," the person in the 911 call said. "She's hurt really bad. Please hurry."
That was the callers' second call to 911 that day. She called earlier, claiming her kids were playing outside and witnessed their neighbor, Thierauf, and another person allegedly doing drugs.
The neighbors are no strangers to Lebanon police.
"I have two police reports on her one was just from two days ago," the person in the 911 call said. "I reported again just like officers told me to."
While on the phone with dispatchers, the caller's kids were in the front yard playing. The call was interrupted by screaming.
"Her dogs are outside, and she just let them loose on my kid," the person in the 911 call said.
The caller ran outside, finding her 6-year-old getting attacked by two large dogs that belonged to Thierauf. The victim's mother claimed that Thierauf was watching and not stopping the dogs from biting the child.
The victim later told police that Thierauf let the dogs out of her front door and ordered, "Go get them." She recalls there being a lot of blood and reporting that dogs bit her face.
Theirauf denied letting the dogs outside. Instead, she told people that they had nosed their way out.
Records reveal that she did not have a license for the dogs, and they were both seized by the Warren County dog warden.
According to court documents, the victim's mother captured a video of Thierauf saying, "Your kids shouldn't have messed with me and my dogs."
Thierauf has been indicted on one count of felonious assault and one count of endangering children.
She is due in court on Thursday.
