DRACUT---A New England man wants the driver who hit his cousin and took off arrested.

The Dracut Police Department is investigating the crash as a hit and run.

The victim’s cousin tells Boston 25 News that he’s in the hospital fighting for his life.

Caleb Adames prays that his cousin, Rubin Torres walks out of the hospital after a driver hit him on his motorcycle on 110 Mary Mack Avenue in Dracut and just drove away.

“It is really rough to see my cousin in a coma the way he is. He don’t deserve this. He is a good kid. He is a father of four,” says Caleb Adames, the cousin of Rubin Torres.

“It boils me because he could have stood there. He could have found out what was wrong, gave us information. He didn’t have to flee the scene,” says Adames.

Dracut Police have a suspect in mind, but say there’s still work to do before making an arrest. Meanwhile, Torres remains in critical condition at a Boston hospital. Adames says his brain is swollen and he has blood clots. It’s hitting him especially hard.

“I am super close to my cousin. He is my peanut butter and jelly. We grew up together, we been together as kids,” says Adames.

Now all that Adames can do is hope the two will one day make more memories and trust that justice will be served.

“There is repercussions for stuff like this you know and at the end of the day I leave it in God’s hands and God will deal with him,” says Adames.

Dracut police say that charges against the driver could be coming soon.
