CONDITION THIS MORNING? AARON, POLICE TELL US THAT THE VICTIM WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH SERIOUS INJURIES, BUT IS EXPECTED TO SURVIVE. A SCARY SITUATION UNFOLDING IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE WAL-MART ON BOEING’S STREET IN CLAREMONT ON WEDNESDAY. POLICE SAY THEY GOT A CALL ABOUT SHOTS BEING FIRED SHORTLY BEFORE 3 P.M.. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT ONE PERSON HAD SUSTAINED A GUNSHOT WOUND. IT WAS AN INCIDENT BETWEEN A GROUP, TWO GROUPS OF PEOPLE WHO WERE ACQUAINTED WITH ONE ANOTHER. BY THE TIME OFFICERS ARRIVED, THEY SAY BOTH THE VICTIM AND SUSPECTS HAD ALREADY FLED SEPARATE VEHICLES. AUTHORITIES FOUND THE SUSPECT’S VEHICLE ON CHARLES TOWN ROAD. WE WOULD ULTIMATELY BE ABLE TO LOCATE A VEHICLE HEADING SOUTH OUT OF TOWN. MADE A TRAFFIC STOP FOR THE VEHICLE, IDENTIFIED SEVERAL FOLKS INSIDE THAT VEHICLE AND TOOK SEVERAL PEOPLE INTO CUSTODY. 18 YEAR OLD XAVIER GABO OF TROY, 20 YEAR OLD DENZEL BRUCE OF KEENE, AND 18 YEAR OLD EMILE ORTIZ, ALSO FROM KEENE, WERE ALL ARRESTED ON CHARGES INCLUDING CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT ARMED ROBBERY. BRUCE IS ALSO CHARGED WITH FIRST ASSAULT. A SHORT TIME AFTER THEY WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY, A WOMAN CALLED 911 SAYING SHE WAS THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE AND THAT HER MALE PASSENGER WAS THE SHOOTING VICTIM. HE WAS FOUND AT A HOME ON DAVIS STREET AND TAKEN TO THE. HE IS EXPECTED TO RECOVER. THE POLICE CHIEF STRESSES THAT IN THIS SITUATION, INNOCENT BYSTANDER COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN HURT. THIS WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON. WALMART’S A VERY BUSY PLACE WITH A LOT OF BUSINESS GOING ON AT THAT TIME. THERE WAS OTHER CUSTOMERS AND ASSOCIATES WHO WERE IN THE PARKING LOT. POLICE ARE ASKING ANYONE WHO MAY HAVE WITNESSED THE SHOOTING OR HAS ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS INCIDENT TO PLEASE GIVE THEM A CALL. REPORTING LIVE I

A man is seriously injured after a shooting in a Claremont Walmart parking lot Wednesday, police said. >> View Thursday's update on this storyClaremont police said they responded to the Walmart on Bowen Street around 2:45 p.m. for a report of a shooting. They said this all stems from some sort of incident between two groups of people in two separate cars when a person in one of the vehicles fired a gun at the other.Both cars left the scene and police later tracked down the suspect vehicle that had shell casings inside. Three people were taken into custody. Police said Xzavier Gibeau, 18, of Troy; Denzil Bruce, 20, of Keene; and Emil Ortiz, 18, of Keene, were arrested in connection to the incident.They are facing charges including conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Bruce is also charged with first-degree assault.A woman called police shortly after the incident saying she was driving the vehicle with the man who was injured, officials said. The man is being treated at an area hospital and is expected to recover. Their identity has not been released.Investigators said both groups know each other and this was not a random shooting, but Claremont police Chief Brent Wilmot stressed that it was a very serious situation. "This was the middle of the afternoon. Walmart is a very busy place with a lot of business going on at that time. There were other customers and associates in the parking lot," Wilmot said. "We've reviewed surveillance footage and we're concerned not just for the folks who were involved, but the folks nearby as well."The investigation is ongoing. The three suspects will be arraigned Thursday.
