Wednesday's HS roundup: Marshwood boys soccer erupts for 10 goals in win

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Rowan Carter had three goals and the Marshwood High School boys soccer team erupted for 10 goals in a 10-4 win over Sanford on Wednesday in a Class A South contest.

The Hawks scored nine goals in the first half, cruising to the win and improving to 9-2 on the season.

Graham Pruyne and Declan Fitzgerald both scored two goals for Marshwood, while Luke Nelson, James Melino, and Brandon McCormack all had one.

Fitzgerald, Jeremy Turner and Milo Closson all had two assists. Marshwood goalie Andrew Perry had 10 saves.

WOLFEBORO - Cameron Brochu, assisted by Nathan Devine, scored for Spaulding in this Division I loss.

EPPING - Somersworth goalie Nahum Yoder had 10 saves in this Division IV loss.

ROCHESTER - Mackenzie Brochu's three goals led the Red Raiders to this Division I win. Goalie Brooke Washburn earned the shutout.

DOVER - Lua Wamberg had four goals, and Fenway Smith, Tatiana Stockbower, and Tatum Smith all had one for PCA (8-3) in its Division IV win.

SOMERSWORTH - Alecia Tibbetts' two goals led Somersworth to this Division IV win.

Harper Blank and Ella Parr both scored for the Hilltoppers, while Ari Carter and Megan Burgess both had an assist.

Somersworth goalie Alyssa Frank had 11 saves. Teammates Gabrielle Lensky, Shakeila Miller, Kezia Mawikere and Kira Noyce all played well.

MERRIMACK - Audrey Carter had three goals and one assist, leading Dover to this Division I win.

Leyden Churchill added two goals for the Green Wave, while Alexis Silva and Hannah Fitzgerald each had one goal. Erin Lynch and Julia Rowley each had an assist., while Hayley Tosh earned the shutout.

NASHUA - Abby Wilber had two goals and Jen Frost had one for Winnacunnet (11-1) in this Division I win.

Winnacunnet goalie Amber Morgado had four saves.

Dover sweeps four-team match

LITCHFIELD - Sophomore Carys Fennessy shot a medalist round of even-par 36 as Dover ended its regular season at Passaconway Country Club.

Dover had a team score of 204, beating Londonderry (209), Salem (221) and Bishop Guertin (222).

Timmy MacGregor had a 37 for Dover (19-4), while Ben Larson shot a 42, Theo Guerrero a 44, and Catie Moe a 45.

PORTSMOUTH - The Clippers improved to 8-3 with this Division I win. In the fifth-and-deciding game, Ariana Incollingo finished the set with four aces to seal the win.

Margaret Montplasir, Maddie MacCannell, Grace Fabiano, and Mackenzie Hagwood all played well for the Clippers.

BEDFORD -  Freshman Lucy Gelbstein came off the bench and made her debut as setter, scoring her first varsity assists and had two aces.

Individual game scores were 25-6, 25-8, 25-8. Alexis Ciardelli also played well for the Warriors.
