MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have been out of the running for the MLB playoffs since Monday, losing a Wild Card spot to the Phillies.

Wednesday was the last game of 2022 for the Brew Crew, placing 2nd in the division this year.

The night ended on a rough note with the Brewers dropping to the Arizona Diamondbacks, 2-4, marking 86 wins and 76 losses this year for the Crew.

Brewers super fans still showed up to American Family Field on Wednesday to watch the season come to an end.

"Opening day, closing day, it doesn't matter if we're in the playoffs or not, we need to be here," said fan, Michelle Kruse.

The sparse crowd brought the energy early, but the excitement took a turn in the ninth as the Diamondbacks took the lead.

"We thought the season could have ended a lot better than it did," said fan, Bob Christensen.

Fans told CBS 58 they're hoping to see some serious changes on the team by spring.

"Hopefully ownership addresses some of the weaknesses in maybe third base, closer, catcher," said fan, Tom Scalissi.

Brewers fans are now prepared to wait through the winter with fingers crossed for better luck next year.

"We've already paid for next year's tickets, so we'll be back, and we can't wait," said fan, Cindy Jorgensen.

The first game of 2023 is March 30 against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
