MoCoShow High School Football Week 6 Preview & Predictions

Poolesville (5-0) at Catoctin (2-3) – The Falcons are still soaring after defeating Magruder 38-14. RB Evan Taylor is proving to be one of the better backs in the county, running for 242 yds and 5 TDs! Poolesville will travel to Frederick County next to take on Catoctin. 

Prediction: Poolesville by 2      

Springbrook (2-3) at Northwood (0-5)   The Blue Devils lost a tough game to Rockville falling 28-21. RB Christian Taylor had 103 yards of total offense in the loss.  Springbrook will travel to Northwood who are looking for their 1st win.

Prediction: Springbrook by 29  . 

Einstein (1-4) at Wheaton (1-4)  The Titans were hit by the injury bug and fell to a hungry Kennedy squad 20-12. The Knights lost to Paint Branch 54-14. As a team Wheaton passed for 211 yards. Both teams will look to get back on track this week.   

Prediction: Einstein by 24 

Whitman (0-5) at Churchill (3-2) – Whitman could not get on track vs Richard Montgomery losing 42-8. Churchill beat Clarksburg 35-0.  These rivals meet this Friday in Potomac..

Prediction: Churchill by 27

Watkins Mill (0-5) at Gaithersburg (1-4) – The Wolverines lost to Damascus 63-6 last Friday Night.  The Trojans were shutout by Urbana 38-0. Both teams look to get back on track on Friday night..  

Prediction: Gaithersburg by 28 

Magruder (2-3) at Kennedy (2-3) – The Colonels lost to Poolesville 38-14 last week.  QB Jamar Jones Jr threw for 219 yds & 2 TD’s Kennedy beat Einstein 20-12. Both squads will attempt to get back to .500 on Saturday in Silver Spring.  

Prediction: Magruder by 17

Seneca Valley (4-1) at Wootton (1-4) – The Screamin’ Eagles took their 1st loss of the season to Quince Orchard 35-0. As a team Seneca had 187 yards of total offense. The Patriots fell to BCC 42-0. QB Matt Repie threw for 130 yards in the loss. These teams will try to get back in the win column this Friday in Rockville. 

Prediction: Seneca Valley by 37

Clarksburg (0-5) at Damascus (4-1) – The Coyotes fell to Churchill 35-0. The Swarmin’ Hornets had no issues dispatching Watkins Mill 63-6.  As a team Damascus rushed for 251 yards. These teams will meet at the Hornets Nest next.  

Prediction: Damascus by 35

Quince Orchard (5-0) at Richard Montgomery (3-2) –  The Cougars shutout streak continues as they took care of Seneca Valley 35-0. QB Savan Briggs threw for 186 yards and 4 TDs. The Rockets beat Whitman 42-8.  QO will travel to the Launching pad in Rockville to take on RM next..    

Prediction: Quince Orchard by 35 

Sherwood (4-1) at Northwest (1-4) – Sherwood crushed Northwood 55-0. RB Van Mahoney ran for 133 yards and 2 TDs. Northwest lost a tough game to Walter Johnson 10-7. As a team the Jags had 257 yards passing.  These teams will clash in a huge matchup at the Black Hole in Germantown. . 

Prediction: Northwest by 21

Paint Branch (3-2) at Blake (3-2)  The Panthers beat a scrappy Wheaton team 54-14. RB Roman Spikes ran for 188 yards and 3 TDs.  Blake fell to Blair 52-13. Jeremiah Seaton ran for 103 yards and 1 TD. The Northeast Consortium crown is on the line this Friday at Blake.. .

Prediction: Paint Branch by 21

Blair (5-0) at Rockville (3-2) – The Blazers are still cooking, downing Blake 52-13. WR Jamall Worrell had 89 yards receiving and 1 TD.  The Rams staged a great 2nd half comeback to beat Springbrook. As a team Rockville rushed for 294 yards and 4 TDs.

Prediction: Blair by 16

Walter Johnson (4-1) at BCC (2-3) – The Wildcats had a huge win last week beating Northwest 10-7. RB Elijah Barringtine ran for 111 yards and 1 TD.  The Barons shutout Wootton 42-0. QB Carson Griffey passed for 97 yards and 1 TD.  The Congressional Cup is on the line in Bethesda this Friday in the MoCoShow Game of the Week..
