Ohio State has played incredibly well to begin the year and the Buckeyes will take their early-season momentum into East Lansing to take on the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans have dropped three consecutive games to Washington, Minnesota and Maryland. Michigan State’s poor pass defense will now have to face QB CJ Stroud and a potent Buckeyes offense.

Let’s take a look at the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and get into our expert’s prediction for this Big Ten matchup.

Ohio State Football vs. Michigan State Football predictions including Ohio State -27 (-110)

The Ohio State Buckeyes were on the right side of another blowout in Week 5, as they held Rutgers to just 10 points and 187 total yards in a 49-10 victory. That victory marked the third time this season that the Buckeyes have held their opponent under 14 points.

Their defense has vastly improved from last season and now rank in the top 12 in opposing yards per game, yards per play and points per game. Overall, this makes the Buckeyes an extremely tough opponent for which to prepare.

The Buckeyes offense has also been just as dominant as expected. They’re averaging 48.8 points and 529.6 yards per game, which ranks first and third, respectively, in the nation. That’s a nightmare for the Spartans defense, as Michigan State has one of the worst pass defenses in the country.

Buckeyes QB CJ Stroud is an electric passer and he’ll hold an advantage against the Michigan State secondary – a unit that ranks outside the top 100 in opposing pass yards per game and completion percentage.

Michigan State will likely struggle to defend Ohio State’s elite skill position talent, so our best bet for this matchup is for Ohio State to cover the -27 spread.

Ohio State Football vs. Michigan State Football odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook

Ohio State comes into this matchup as a 27-point favorite over Michigan State at FanDuel Sportsbook. Odds sit at -110 for either side, meaning that a successful $11 bet on Ohio State to win by 28 points or more would profit $10. The same wager on the Spartans would profit $10 if they lose by 26 points or less, or win the game outright.

If Ohio State wins by 27 points exactly, both sides of the spread will push and all wagers will be refunded. The game total (over/under) for the matchup is 64.5, and both sides of the total carry a -110 price at FanDuel.
