KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A pop-up bike lane in Kalamazoo is expected to be taken apart this weekend, according to city officials.
After the project was pushed back a week, the one-mile wave bike lane along Lovell Street is scheduled for take-down Sunday Oct. 9, city officials said.
Crews installed the lane in August as a part of a two-month pilot program.
The goal was to slow down traffic by up to 5 mph, which could save lives in the event of a collision, according to the city.
The city is gathering feedback to understand the effectiveness of the lane, according to city officials.
The city of Kalamazoo posted a public survey on Facebook, but no deadline for has been set.
