PEORIA, Ill. – Two people — one of which is a juvenile — have been arrested after they were caught in an allegedly stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning, and allegedly with a gun.
Peoria Police say they saw the car they knew to be stolen pull into a North MacArthur Boulevard business around 2:55 a.m.
The 15-year-old driver was seen walking inside a business and was arrested immediately, after officers found an allegedly stolen and loaded firearm with him.
The passenger — Jaquon Timothy, 20 — is believed to have taken the wheel and fled the scene. The car was later found on West Ann, and Timothy was found nearby in the woods.
The juvenile is in custody on charges of Aggravated Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID Card, Possession of a Firearm While Under 21, and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
Timothy also faces a stolen vehicle charges, along with Obstructing an Officer, and is in adult custody.
