LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima is hoping to get more first-time homeowners in houses next spring as the Department of Housing and Neighborhoods introduces "First Home Lima".
The program is for income-eligible individuals looking to buy their first home. It is a 2-week session with 4 classes that will teach you about the requirements of buying a home, from financing to property maintenance. By taking the class, you could earn up to $6,000 toward a down payment and closing costs.
"What lenders are looking for. Just the best ways to get you the maximum amount of loans, have the best interest score, all the things you would need to know in preparing for having the education and be prepared for home ownership," commented Carmillia Zion, deputy director of Housing & Neighborhoods.
