SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University Debate and Forensics Team had a great start to its season at Bloomsburg University the first weekend in October—placing second in the team sweepstakes competition. Seventeen students competed, nearly double from last year. On Saturday, October 1, the team received more than 20 final placements in various events.

Congratulations to all the students who received a finals placement:

Coach Ilynn Brennan and Team Captain Chloe Bailey are excited by the number of finals placements in last weekend’s tournament and cannot wait to see how the rest of the season goes.

The Debate and Forensics Team will travel to Ottowa, Canada, to continue the competition season later in October. The public is invited to a tournament hosted by Shepherd November 4-5 in White and Knutti halls.
