New Orleans Police have shut down Canal Street between South Dupre to Carrollton Avenue in both directions.
At least two SWAT units have been spotted and officers with automatic weapons and tactical gear are searching the area.
The activity caused Warren Easton High School to go into lockdown at this time.
NOPD is tight lipped about what is going on or who they are searching for.
But, a full fledged manhunt with a helicopter, canines, and local, state, and federal law enforcement officers is underway in Mid-City.
