WPAFB issues noise alert for Wednesday training

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Officials at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base are issuing a warning for a loud noise that some may hear Wednesday afternoon.

The Wright-Patterson Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is conducting training today at the EOD proficiency range on Area A. The training will run from noon to 4 p.m.

This is the second training alert issued by the base today. From 8-11 a.m., the was a test ran on Aerospace Control Alert System. During that time, residents in Middletown, Springfield and Dayton may have heard or saw fighter jets in close proximity to Civil Air Patrol aircraft.

During that timeframe, there will be one detonation, according to officials.
