A 28-year-old has been charged with shooting and killing a 14-year-old near Bennettsville.
Tybiriolls Fennell of Bennettsville was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
A relative of the suspect, Bessie Ann Canty, 67, of Bennettsville was charged with accessory after the fact of a felony in relation to this incident.
On Oct. 2, the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office said they responded around 11:10 p.m. to a house on J Pledger Lane in reference to a shooting incident.
Once on scene, deputies with the Uniform Patrol Division found a person suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a report.
Deputies said they immediately rendered aid by administering CPR until EMS could arrive but could not save him.
The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division along with the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division Crime Scene Unit and SLED Child Fatality Unit began the investigation.
