IT IS BUMPY. I’VE DRIVEN OVER THOSE BUMPS. AND I’LL TELL YOU, YOU WILL FEEL EVERY ONE OF THOSE BUMPS IF YOU DRIVE OVER A STRETCH OF, GEORGE STREET, THAT RIGHT NOW IS BEING RESURFACED. THE SOUND IS LOUD WHEN CARS AND TRUCKS HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE ROAD SURFACE BEEN MILLED BETWEEN KING STREET AND NORTH STREET, BUT THE RAIN TEMPORARILY HALTED. THE ROAD IMPROVEMENT. SO FOR NOW, MOTORISTS EXPERIENCING A VERY BUMPY RIDE AS THEY DRIVE OVER EXPOSED COVERS AND DIVOTS. PUT A CAMERA ON THE HOOD, OUR CAR, SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HIT ONE. MANY DRIVERS TO GO AROUND THEM, BUT IT’S NOT ALWAYS EASY. IF YOU HIT ONE, YOU FEEL IT. THE CITY HOPES TO COMPLETE REPAVING BY THE END OF NEXT WEEK. FOR NOW, THE CITY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR SAYS THAT WANT TO SLOW DOWN AND PAY ATTENTION ON THAT. WE HAVE OUT THERE ON THE STREETS. Drivers in downtown York have probably noticed it's been a rough ride through the city.George Street between King and North streets is a bad stretch.It's the result of a resurfacing project that's temporarily on hold because of the rain.The road surface has been milled, but motorists are experiencing a very bumpy ride as they drive over exposed manhole covers and divots.Construction work is expected to resume Thursday when the weather warms up.The city hopes that paving will be completed by the end of next week.
