PERRY COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - Officers are looking for two suspects after a chase with a possible stolen vehicle led to a crash involving a patrol SUV.

Deputies are currently looking for two men, one described as having a dreadlock hairstyle and wearing a white hoodie, black pants and white shoes. The other man was described as wearing a black shirt or jacket and black shoes with white soles.

They are both considered armed and dangerous.

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office was contacted about a possible stolen vehicle in their area.

According to the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, two deputies were investigating near State Highway B and Interstate 55, near Biehle, around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5.

The deputies found a vehicle matching the description going northbound on I-55 near the 123 mile marker. They tried to pull it over, but said the driver failed to yield.

According to deputies, the suspect vehicle left the road near the 126 mile marker, going northbound in the southbound lane of I-55 for a short period.

The driver of the patrol vehicle tried to change travel directions in the designated interstate turn-a-round, when the suspect vehicle crashed head-on into the patrol vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies say the suspect vehicle continued going north on I-55 before crashing off the road near the 127 mile marker and catching fire.

Investigators say a witness saw two men get out of the suspect vehicle and leave the crash scene on foot, going east through a field toward the Highway K and Highway B intersection.

At around 9:34 a.m., a Perry County resident reported his home security camera captured the images of two men running through his yard, toward Perry County Road 501.

Deputies searched the area and collected the video and photographic evidence from the resident.

The highway patrol is assisting the sheriff’s department with searching for the suspects.

“We are following up on every lead possible,” Detective Jason Klaus with the Perry County Sheriff’s Department, said. “We had an area we felt that they were contained in. The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted with that, with their K-9s, also with air support. That helicopter came down to assist us with that. Unfortunately, we’ve been able to locate them at this point, but if anybody in the community sees these two individuals fitting that description, please call the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.”

They ask that you call 911 if you see them. You can also call the Perry County Sheriff’s Department at 573-547-4576.
