The Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million sold in New Jersey for Tuesday’s lottery drawing was bought at a convenience store in Union County.
The ticket, which matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball, was purchased at QuickChek on Morris Avenue in Union, lottery officials said Wednesday.
In addition, a third-prize, $10,000 ticket was bought at Wawa on Route 72 and Mermaid Drive in the Manahawkin in section of Stafford. It matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 15, 18, 25, 33 and 38. The Mega Ball drawn was 25 with a Megaplier of 2X.
A second-prize ticket was also sold in Louisiana.
The jackpot for Friday’s Mega Millions drawing has increased to an estimated $410 million.
No one has hit a Mega Millions jackpot since someone who bought a ticket in Illinois won the $1.337 top prize on July 29. The jackpot is the second largest Mega jackpot and the third biggest in U.S. lottery history.
The odds of a $2 ticket matching all the winning numbers are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is worth $353 million with a cash option of $185.6 million.
