Firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire on Bells Ferry Road, which caused the road to be shut down Tuesday morning.
Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a residential structure fire at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday on Bells Ferry Road near Wooten Drive, the fire department reported.
Units responded from stations 22, 20, 24, 8, and 11. Firefighters arrived on scene and found a house on fire with two residents outside the home, who had already escaped.
Firefighters deployed a hose line and entered the home to complete a search for any additional victims while extinguishing the fire. Firefighters connected to a hydrant nearby to supply water to the fire engines on scene which resulted in Bells Ferry Road needing to be shut down for the duration of the incident, Cherokee Fire reported.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
